Endorsements vs Reviews on Linked In

On the Linked In forum this week there was an interesting conversation, started by well known social media specialist Michelle Prak, around endorsements.

Her tip was not to accept those that don't apply even though they have come from well-meaning people.  It's all about keeping your own brand credible and authentic.

What I learned about Linked In however was that other people can write recommendations!  No doubt some of you are already aware of this but I for one, was not.  This seems to provide much more credibility than endorsements and gives the ability for the endorser to write what they love about your business.  

From now on I will spend more time "recommending" my friends, clients and colleagues and not worry too much about the endorsements.  We also need to ask our clients and associates to leave a recommendation on our profile.
